Savory Pie Basics
Join us for a savory pie baking class after hours in the East Durham Bake Shop kitchen!
Participants will start with a hands-on experience in making a basic but versatile savory dough, and learning tips and tricks to help them make their own pie dough at home. Next we'll talk a bit about the seasonal produce available in NC and the different ways in which use it in our baked goods. We'll demonstrate a couple savory fillings and talk about how to use these as a base for other recipes- substituting and adapting as seasonal availability changes. Participants will get a chance to roll, crimp and form dough, and leave with a disc of their own savory dough to take home.
