The Emperor's New Clothes
This rollicking Los Angeles Children's Theater production welcomes audience participation and is filled with physical humor, site gags, extravagant costumes and props, memorable characters played by professional actors, a lasting moral lesson, and free giveaways for all children.
Running a fast-paced 45 minutes, this hilarious romp will keep children laughing throughout as the vain Emperor and his eccentric ministers Timely and Puckering continually get duped by a pair of schemers Sly and Dim Witt, who are as wily as they are dumb.
How do you convince a king and his court that the invisible (and non-existent) Emperor's new clothes are actually "real"? And how do you weave a beautiful cloth out of thread that no one (including the two scheming tailors) can see? What moral lesson do we learn by continually believing in something that we know doesn't exist but are afraid to honestly express?
Written almost two hundred years ago, The Emperor's New Clothes is a classic story that is as relevant today as it was when it was first published. The Los Angeles Children's Theater's production is sure to delight audiences young and old.
