Immersive Education Series- Choose Wisely: How to manage and instruct your audience while staying in character.
CHOOSE WISELY: How to manage and instruct your audience while staying in character.
Tuesday, 5/29- Thymele Arts, 7-9pm, $20
You've done your actor prep. You know the world in which you invite the audience to inhabit. You know your character. You know your lines. But the audience does not know their lines. How could they?
This workshop will give you tools and tricks to stay in the present moment, while reading the audience's participation interest (and ability). How do you choose an audience member to go, alone, up a creepy staircase, or into the closet? How do you prevent an audience member from hurting themselves (or an actor) while staying in character and in the moment? How to wrangle and audience in a fluid, natural way, while traversing up and down stairs, into and out of various rooms, all the while keeping every one of them engaged and focused?
We will explore all of this and more! Come out for the final workshop in our Immersive Education Series!
BIO:
Aaron Lyons does theatre. Lots of it. As an actor, director, designer, producer, stage manager, technical director, casting director, and crew member, he has over 250 credits on his National and International resumes. But dont let that sound too fanciful; hes just a theatre rat who likes telling good stories with good people. He stepped onto the Immersive Theatre scene in 2013 with DELUSION: Masque of Mortality and has been an active participant in Delusion ever since as an Actor, Casting Director, and Carpenter.
