Honoring the Africanist Roots of Depth Jungian Psychology by Dr. Fanny Brewster

This community lecture invitation will reflect on and discuss the Africanist roots of Depth Psychology. Jungian Psychology in particular, has incorporated into its theory and practice, many of the ideas of African philosophical and religious teachings. Our gathering provides us with a rare opportunity to share with one another regarding this topic.
Opening Ceremony with guest speaker, Dr. Fanny Brewster

Come join us for our annual celebration of our graduating students and the continuing efforts of the entire SDP community. The ceremony includes a sharing circle, drumming, and a delicious catered dinner followed by a talk by our honored guest, Dr. Fanny Brewster.
Dr. Fanny Brewster is a Jungian analyst and author of poetry and nonfiction.
Her book African Americans and Jungian Psychology: Leaving the Shadows has recently been published by Routledge (2017). A forthcoming book, Archetypal Grief: Slaverys Legacy of Intergenerational Child Loss is forthcoming. Her poems from Journey: The Middle Passage have appeared in the Psychological Perspectives Journal (2016) in which she was Featured Poet. Dr. Brewster is a Core Faculty member at Pacifica Graduate Institute and the Philadelphia Association of Jungian Analysts. She is a lecturer and workshop presenter on Jungian Psychology related topics and Culture. She will be the keynote speaker in Portland, Oregon at the Jungian Society for Scholarly Studies (JSSS) Conference, June 27, 2018
