TYR Presents LES MISÉRABLES

Do you hear the people sing? Victor Hugo's Les Misérables takes us to 19th century France, a time when the poor sacrifice their freedom and dignity to survive, until revolutionaries rise up and fight for a brighter future. Talented East Bay youth bring the hit musical to Alameda, portraying Jean Valjean, on the run from the law as he transforms himself into an upstanding citizen; Javert, the gendarme obsessed with tracking him down; Cosette and Eponine, raised together by the vile Thenardier family, who grow up to love the same young revolutionary; and the many desperate, determined and tragic figures who make up this classic story of redemption, hope, and struggle. Two full casts will have three peformances each at Michaans Theater, 2700 Saratoga St.
(The show's runtime is 2 hours and 35, including a 10-minute intermission.)
