Finnriver Craft Course: Cozy Knitted Headbands with Fruition Knits
Class Description:
This course covers the three most basic skills of knitting: the cast-on, the knit stitch and the cast-off. We will have focused time to learn these skills and get the muscle memory into our bodies long enough to let our fingers remember the movements. We will learn how to fix dropped stitches, how to back up and erase your mistakes, and how to connect the two ends of our headband to make it a finished project. This class is ideal for the beginning knitter and the knitter who's learned these skills already, but needs support remembering and smoothing out the process.
In this class, we'll be using super bulky weight yarn to knit up a headband quickly. The class fees include the following, which you'll be able to take home with you after the class:
- Enough super bulky yarn to complete your headband project - 3 buttons to sew onto the finished product - A darning needle to sew the ends together - Knitting needles
*If you're interested in bringing your own materials, it is required that you check in with the instructor prior to the class. Email her at sarah.peller@gmail.com or call at 508-471-6866 at least 2 days before class begins.
All supplies directly support the Bazaar Girls Yarn shop in Port Townsend. The Madrona wooden buttons are made by local craftsman, Pete Gillis. You can make your headband any width - this headband shown in the photo is the widest option.
