Mioto Pop-up Dinner at Heyday Farm House
This May, Chef Tad Mitsui has invited Taho Kakutani of Mioto Pop-up Dinner to join us on the farm for an evening of delicious and creative fare.
Taho Kakutani works as a fishmonger at the Pike Place Fish Market in downtown Seattle. When his family moved to Bainbridge two years ago, he wanted to explore his dream of being a chef so he and his wife Jennifer began hosting Mioto Pop-up Dinners out of their home on Bainbridge Island.
On Monday, May 21st he will take his show on the road and join Chef Tad Mitsui at Heyday Farm House. Taho sources his seafood from Pike Place Fish, the only completely sustainable seafood market in Pike Place Market, and pairs it with his new passion for foraging. Wild onion flowers and sea beans are his favorite seasonal finds at this time.
Chef Tad and Taho will collaborate on a multi course seafood focused tasting menu highlighting local and sustainable fish and shellfish served with sake. It has been well known in Japan that sake and seafood pair extremely well together; primarily due to the higher than average levels of amino acid compounds present in these foods. Without getting too nerdy, let Taho just say that he very excited to share this experience with you.
Cost: $120.00 per person. Ticket includes sake pairing, Chef's seafood multi-coursed tasting menu and gratuity.
Tickets are non-refundable for this special event.
