Howling for Holly's Hands: A Comedy Fundraiser to Provide Veterinary care to Dogs and Cats in need in Haiti
Who are we?
Dr. Holly Gill is a veterinarian who opened Hollin Hall Animal Hospital in Alexandria, VA in 1998. She started Holly's Hands: Southern Animal Charity International in 2013 to help people and their pets around the world. Holly's Hands has allowed her to go to remote, developing, and under-served places with supplies, equipment, and other volunteers to help animals and the people who love them.
Holly's Hands is a veterinary 501(C)(3) non-profit organization that provides medical care for dogs and cats. We treat animals that are sick or injured, as well as provide vaccinations and surgeries. Our team has traveled to Ecuador, Peru, Spain, Belize, and the Navajo Nation in New Mexico. We now focus our efforts in Haiti. Over the last 2 years, we've traveled four times to the Sud region (southern) of Haiti and provided medical care to over 400 dogs and cats. The local community requests that we continue to return to serve them and nearby communities with no other access to veterinary care. We have organized this event to raise funds for another trip to Haiti in June, 2018.
The Fundraiser Event
On the evening of June 24, 2018, Holly's Hands is throwing our first fundraising event. We will feature a comedy show hosted by local veterinarian and Holly's Hands volunteer, Dr. Ami Krasner, at the historic Lyceum in Old Town, Alexandria, VA. The event will include long-form improvisational comedy and live music, magic, and/or stand-up comedy. Megan Gray (Artistic Director Magnet Theater, NYC) and an ensemble of veteran improvisers will unite for a fun, silly, entertaining improv extravaganza that will leave you saying, "I enjoyed that." We will also feature many local actors and performers. We plan to serve wine, beer and dessert. We will also hold a silent auction that starts online prior to the event date and will end at intermission at the event. Please stay tuned for the link to the silent auction. All sales will go directly to Holly's Hands to help animals in need.
