RISSE Fundraiser - Drumming Up Support
**TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR FOR $40**
RISSE (Refugee and Immigrant Support Services of Emmaus) warmly welcomes you to join us at our 2018 fundraising event, Drumming Up Support. Because it is our goal to keep the fun in fundraising, our guests will enjoy a night of music, poetry, artwork, and international cuisine.
The Albany Women Drummers group will welcome you with traditional rhythms as you enjoy hors doeuvres from Sunhees Farm and Kitchen. Brian Melick, the regions best-known percussion virtuoso, will entertain and engage willing participants in a dynamic drum circle. The Opalka Gallery will display artwork from RISSE students, as well as works from our adult education project, Refugees: Poetry from the Heart. Select art pieces will be available for purchase in a silent auction.
RogueFX, the Albany media-arts organization, will premiere their mini-documentary showcasing RISSE to round out the evening. Guests will experience an intimate look at a day at RISSE and gain a better understanding of the role RISSE plays in helping refugees and immigrants to build new, sustainable lives in our community.
Drinks will be available throughout the evening at a cash bar benefiting Sunhee's English and Adult Computer Education programs.
Tickets are $40 at the door.
