In this fun and interactive two-hour workshop, parents/grandparents/caregivers will learn how to use music and movement to teach social language skills and concepts using engaging games and activities.
Some Core Concepts Include: - Connecting with Others - Taking Turns - Recognizing Emotions - Using Calming Tools
Short, up-beat songs that vary in genre from rock to reggae and hip-hop, focus on core principles of self regulation and social navigation. The activities and songs' memorable language helps parents reflect on the message and quote familiar lyrics from the CD to help to reinforce children these strategies at home, in the car, any time after group is over.
The Friend Ship songs and activities utilize therapeutic techniques to help children to become more thoughtful, understanding, and emotionally aware individuals. In addition to being a handy asset for parents, the Friend Ship is a fun and useful teaching tool for any preschool-aged child.
