Chimera Ensemble and Theatre Lumina are proud to join forces to produce a staged reading, directed by Monica Payne, of NATURAL SHOCKS, Lauren Gunderson's new, 65-minute play, as part of an ambitious national campaign of theater activism against gun violence.
Alone in her basement, a woman waits out an approaching tornado. As she engages the audience about her plight, she overflows with quirks, stories, and a final secret that puts the reality of guns in America in your very lap. The play is part confessional, part stand up, and part reckoning. Inspired by Hamlet's "To be or not to be," this tour-de-force play bursts with life.
