Dry Creek Blending & Tasting Seminar

Matt McCormack from Dry Creek Vineyards, Healdsburg, CA. will be hosting a unique event in the Stateline region. Matt and Chelsea Hunter, from Glunz Wines, will give a brief introduction on Dry Creek Vineyards while youll sample Dry Creeks awarding winning Chenin Blanc and Heritage Vines Zinfandel along with an assortment of fine sausage and cheeses provided by Texs Grocery of Beloit, Wis.
After, a brief history of Dry Creek we will begin the blending process. Our guests will be asked to pair off in multiples of two or four guests. Upon completing that task, each group will be asked to choose a Team Name. Next each team will receive (5) wines; Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc to be used in their unique blend. These blends are based on the Dry Creek wine The Mariner. The Mariner has garnered scores ranging from 90 points and higher from such publications as Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast and other publications. After each team has completed their respective blends Mr. McCormack, Chelsea, Brian, Matt and Dave will judge and declare a winner. The winner will receive (1) Bottle of the Mariner (a $40 value) signed from the Winemaker.
