FSSW Benefit for Oregon Farm Workers

Friends of Seasonal and Service Workers (FSSW) is an all-volunteer membership association that is dedicated to materially assisting seasonal, farm and service workers struggling for collective solutions to their poverty conditions through their own independent, community-backed organizing efforts.

FSSW volunteers donate time, skills and resources to help fight for improved living and working conditions in some of the lowest income communities in our area. By necessity, this aid includes non-perishable and fresh foods, clothing and support for preventative health care to provide for fundamental survival needs.

Strange & The Familiars
Strange & the Familiars weaves otherworldly stories into acoustic soul sounds. With humor and lyrical subtlety, Stephanie Strange invites you to pull up a chair to enjoy these moody tales. Joined by Mark Bowden on guitar, Timothy Robert Karplus on keys, Chris White on drums, and Julio Appling on standup bass, Strange & the Familiars will transport you.

Geebsville
A Portland-based quartet, Geebsville features the soulful vocal stylings of Nayibe Geebs Rojas, well known as the dynamic lead singer of the popular, high-energy dance band Ma Fondue. Backing Geebs in this project are Bill Mitchell (of the Ventilators) on keys and vocals, Bret Malmquist (of Alexa Wiley & the Wilderness) on guitar and vocals, and Fred Ingram (of the Sportin Lifers) on drums. Geebsville interprets a diverse selection of classic and contemporary tunes, ranging from rhythm and blues to jazz, Latin, and country swing.
