May Meeting - Annual Meeting and Joint meeting with the IIA

May is Internal Audit Awareness month, so join us to celebrate our profession during our last meeting for the 2017/2018 chapter year. We are excited to announce that we will be partnering with the Oklahoma City IIA chapter to offer a Mini Conference featuring some great speakers. Come hear about data analytics, blockchain, ethics and the risks of cutting edge technology convergence at a discounted rate! 11:30am 1pm - Karlis Kezbers (OKC Thunder) Thundering Up Your Data-Driven Decision Making Mini Conference 1:15pm 2:00pm - Scott Moore (Devon Energy) Blockchain Overview and Audit Impacts 2:15pm 3:15pm Tim Hast (Encore Life Skills) The Ethics of Seeking the Truth:Confirmation Bias is the tendency to believe what we want to believe. As we seek the truth we must ask ourselves, What are my biases? Am I aware of my assumptions? what am I treating as fact that is actually conjecture? We will explore confirmation bias and ways to counter our own biases.
