Great Expectations: Songs of Hope
VOICES Multicultural Chorus presents its spring concert Great Expectations: Songs of Hope 4:00 pm May 5, 2018, at the First Baptist Church of Ithaca, New York. In todays contentious and fragmented times, many in our community, country, and world are under duress. Hope for a positive future is strained. This concert features songs of inspiration and hope using the gift of song to create a community of hope. Songs range from traditional spirituals, words coined by children of a Bosnian orphanage, a Maori welcome song, contemporary country and pop. For our final three selections, members of other area choruses will join us as we work to build bridges of hope in our community. Refreshments will be available after the concert. Tickets are $12 in advance ($15 at the door). Children 12 and under are free.
