Love Early Summer Mini Retreat
An afternoon of yoga, qigong, MELT and heartfelt practice, with special focus of kindness.
Early Summer is time to warm and soften the body with emphasis on connective tissue health, the stretchy elastic web that wraps around every element in our bodies, keeping us stable yet agile. We even have connective tissue in our corneas! Made of 70-80% water a key aspect of connective tissue health is keeping hydrated - sipping water throughout the day - and MELT - a simple self care technique to keep the whole web flexible and glidable.

Our movement will be a warming mix of MELT - connective tissue hydration - and seasonal flow yoga and qigong - flowing outwards and inwards between anchor points, to help ease away stiffness and stuck stress. We will feel more agile and stable. We will improve our flexibility and overall capability. Sound good? It will be! Excellent if you enjoy an active lifestyle, excellent if you would like to ease your way into one!

Movement practice will be fluid, sinuous, stretching across the chest, into the arms and legs, then back to our core and centre, working the pericardium and triple heater meridians. Practice is social, connected, warming (the cockles of) the heart.

Enjoy a cup of warming herbal tea and delicious organic snacks before an indulgent and restorative second half. Pranayama (breathing techniques) to balance our energy flow, deep relaxation (yoga nidra), a space to thoroughly rest, allowing patterns of holding to release. It is said that 20 minutes of yoga nidra is the equivalent of one hours sleep. We will practise at least 40 minutes. The afternoon will end with quiet heart led meditation, opening the heart into the present moment, enabling us to feel calm loving kindness, in celebration of lighter and warmer days!

Please bring a full water bottle. We will sip regularly throughout the session. If you would like to prepare in advance, a couple of mouthfuls of water every 10-15 minutes is an excellent way to hydrate your connective tissue. Wear comfy soft clothing and layers.
My mini retreat is open to all levels, including beginners. Age 14+ are welcome with an accompanying adult. Any questions, please get in touch!
