STANISLAUS COUNTY INTERFAITH PRAYER SUPPER
In keeping with its goal to bring people together from all faith traditions, Stanislaus County Interfaith Council announces its second Annual Springtime Prayer Supper, complementing its popular, long-running Interfaith Thanksgiving Celebration in the fall. Scheduled for Tuesday, May 1, two days before the National Day of Prayer on May 3, the gathering will run from 6 to 8 pm, hosted by the Modesto-Hughson Sikh Temple. The Supper will feature a traditional Indian (vegetarian) meal complete with tasty samosas, salads and side dishes, naan bread, as well as ethnic desserts prepared by other participating faith communities. Special guests Rabbi Shalom Bochner and Imam Ahmad Kayello will speak on the topic of "How Prayer Brings Us Together," setting the tone for this rare opportunity to dine with members of other faith traditions while discussing both our unique practices and our shared experiences with prayer. Food is secondary. Fellowship and bridge-building is the main course!
