Bike Month Yoga Workshops
Each workshop will include approximately one hour of discussion on body alignment for cycling and bike adjustments tied to the area of the body being studied, plus a one hour yoga practice, again, focused on the area of the body being studied. Participants will be able to address specific issues, see products and solutions and ultimately spend more time on the bike! Bring your questions and solutions!
Each workshop is limited to 20 participants, you do not need to commit to both! The cost is $25 for one, $40 if you register for both. Part of the proceeds go to support Birds of a Feather as they work to obtain their 501c3 and get more women on bikes! (The workshops are open to all).
Hips & Hamstrings: Wednesday, May 2 6:30-8:30 This class discussion will cover topics like saddle adjustments, possible cleat adjustments, and pedaling cadence through the lens of body alignment. Our yoga practice will hone in on hip flexors, hamstrings, calves and the lower half of the body (with a little abdominal work for good measure).
Core, Arms, & More: Wednesday, May 9 6:30-8:30 This class discussion is focused on handlebar to seat set up, grips & tape, stem lengths and placements and proper body mechanics on the bike (how do you use your core to take pressure of shoulders and wrists). Our yoga practice will hone in on core work, arms and shoulders (and protecting the rotator cuff).
These workshops are not intended to be a custom bike fit session, but rather to bring more awareness to body alignment and how that alignment impacts riding, thus we will not be fitting riders specifically to their bike.
