ATMOSPHERIC SHIFT: Music of the Elements The Ice: STORM/The Wind: TORNADO
New music ensembles TWO SIDES SOUNDING and ZENTRIPETAL team up for a series of musical perspectives on the climate extremes experienced globally and seen locally in Brooklyn, as heard through element-inspired chamber music of living composers. "The Ice: STORM/The Wind: TORNADO" is part one of an ongoing project that explores how forces of nature affect individuals every day, from heat and humidity to winds and rain. The concert includes music by Eve Beglarian, Gloria Coates, Michael Djupstrom, Daniel Felsenfeld, Lei Liang, Gilda Lyons, Kala Pierson, Michael Rose and Kamala Sankaram, and a world premiere by Lynn Bechtold.
Performers: Lynn Bechtold, violin Jennifer DeVore, cello Mila Henry, piano Eleanor Taylor, voice
with guest vocalist Kamala Sankaram and original video by Jennifer Stock
A limited number of ARTIST, STUDENT and SENIOR tickets will be available for $10 at the door before the concert, on a first come, first served basis.
This program is made possible with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts. In Kings County the Decentralization Program is administered by the Brooklyn Arts Council, Inc. (BAC).
