Tropicana Night Club Dance Party & Show
"The pulse of the bongo drums calls in the night: boom-ba-ba-boom. He puts on his finest suit and dons his fedora. He follows the rhythm, his lady draped on his arm. She dazzles, a vision in jewels, her heels click-clacking on the narrow streets of Havana. He steps up to the club and lights his cigar. When the smoke clears away, he finds himself immersed in the exotic ambiance of the Tropicana nightclub."
Our intricately crafted show will transport you back to the golden era of cabaret in Havana Cuba. It will feature elaborate variety acts, from the apache Tango of Rudolph Valentino, to the Braziliana of Carmen Miranda; from the Celia Cruz celebration of life, to the spicy mambo of Desi Arnez.
Apart from the professional show, the event will offer plentiful social dancing, as well as the First Annual Formation Team Challenge, where performance groups will have the opportunity to showcase their skills and compete for the Grand Prix trophy. Our panel of respected judges will select the best-in-show, yet the audience will also have a chance to choose their favorite!
Please don't miss this one-of-a-kind celebration of dancing and theatre. Dress up in the vibrant style of 1950s Havana Cuba, and dance to upscale ballroom melodies and spicy Latin tunes by popular dance DJ James Woo. When its time for a break, taste some delicious buffet style food and refreshments, catered by Pascal Belsie. Free parking available underneath the studio, as well as local business lots and plenty of street parking. Tickets are $45 before the event, and $50 at the door.
