4-H Horse Spring Clinic 2018
4-H Horse Spring Clinic 2018 May 11-13, 2018 Spokane Interstate Fairgrounds Entries Due May 4th Late Registration (add $10) 8:30 a.m., May 12, 2018, Time to prepare 4-H horses and youth riders for show season in a fun, no pressure learning environment. This 3-day schooling clinic is a great spring warm-up!
Friday Clinics, May 11 5pmó £ Jump Pre Qual: (Outdoor arena FREE This clinic for youth interested in jumping. Youth would demonstrate their current abilities to compete in jumping higher than 12 inches at 4-H horse shows. Clinician: Susie Merritt
Friday 5pm Beginning Horsemanship: ( covered arena )$35 This clinic ideal for youth who are inexperienced or new to horses. Clinicians will cover the vital basics: tack check, helmet fit, rein management, and walk/trot and lope control. Clinician: Rachel Hamby
Friday 6:30 pm Over Fences & On the Flat: (Outdoor arena)$20 Equitation on the flat and over fences is designed to assist youth on how to approach and execute jumps appropriately. English saddle/tack and snaffle required. Clinician: Susie Merritt
Saturday Clinics, May 12 9am-4pm Western Games: (Location TBD) $35 Learn all the gaming events. Youth will learn how to add technique and speed to help make every run successful. Clinician: Jill Connolly & Dusti Kissler
Saturday 4pm-7pm Dressage: (Location TBD)20 This class will focus on how to carry you with more ease and to respond to subtle aids. Basic dressage is teaching a horse to be supple, balanced and responsive. English or western tack bring your snaffle. ó £ Clinician: Susie Merritt (continued reverse)
Sunday Clinics, May 13 9am-4pm Performance (includes showmanship): (Location TBD) Class $35 Showmanship English Equitation Western Equitation Trail Learn how to improve your equitation, execution of patterns, how to catch the judges eye and prepare for horse shows. Showmanship, English, Western, bareback and trail. Clinician: Kelsey Masterson & Dusti Kissler
4pm Green Horse Clinic: (Location TBD)$20 For youth who are intermediate or senior level. Horses must be 5 years and younger. Youth will learn the various steps in training a young horse. On the ground and in the saddle training techniques. Clinician: Rachel Hamby
All classes ***Helmet, boots, long pants, and at least a short sleeve shirt required. COSTS **SPECIAL Saturday & Sunday: $60 **SPECIAL: All three (3) days: $80 Stall Rental $10/NIGHT (not required) ***Horses allowed to be tied to trailer during the day
