Eastlake Summer Cruise on the Islander, Thurs., July 11, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

The Eastlake Community Council and Champagne Cruises invite you to the Eastlake Summer Cruise on historic icebreaker the Islander -- Thursday, July 11. Cruise Lake Union and Lake Washington with your friends and neighbors. Boarding begins at 5:30 p.m. at 1611 Fairview Ave. E. Departure at 6:30, return by 8:30.

Tickets are $15, and include the following: chef's choice appetizers; penne rigate (pasta) with fresh basil, red, yellow, and green bell peppers, and alder smoked chicken (vegetarian version also provided); summer harvest green salad with dressings on the side; and cake, pie, and cookies. There is a cash bar (no credit cards accepted on board), but fruit punch and water are free.

Kids up to 6 years old are free, but only if pre-registered by sending an e-mail with their names and ages to info@eastlakeseattle.org (needed so that the cruise company has an accurate pre-count of all passengers, even those not needing tickets). The University District Food Bank, which aids the needy in Eastlake and nearby neighborhoods, is short of non-perishable food items and toiletries (bar soap, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, toilet paper, safety razors). At the cruise, ECC will be accepting donated items for the Food Bank.
