It is the centenary of women getting the vote.
LynchPin Productions Theatre Company wants to celebrate with two special events.
FIRST EVENT: we are holding a special afternoon tea on the 12th of May. There will be tea, scones, cucumber sandwiches and cakes, plus a cash bar to enjoy along with entertainment in the form of an interactive new script by Oliver Church, which will include some rousing songs of the era to remind us how far we've come (and how far we have yet to go). Find out if you are a Suffragette or a Suffragist and hear what the local Godalming women were up to.
There will be some great raffle prizes to be won! Raffle prizes from local businesses include G Live, Watts Gallery, Portraits by Pear Tree, Perfect Nails, Denbies Vineyard and Albury Vineyard. And, to help you get in the spirit, there will be competitions for best vintage hat, best vintage costume and best suffragette banner.
Come join us for a fun-filled afternoon.
SECOND EVENT: All of the above is happening to raise funds for our tour of a brand new play (with music) called WHEN THE CAT'S AWAY, by Claire Parker, a story of the impact of the suffragette movement on a small fictional village in England.
