FEED: Frontier Feminists
Join us for a celebration of the Frontier Feminists who trailblazed a path to the farthest reaches of America from the Alaskan wilderness to the isolated Black Hills to the desolate plains of Arkansas. Travel with us for an evening of food, beer, song, and storytelling as we explore america through the eyes of female pioneers who first settled it. Words by Willa Cather, Calamity Jane and other Frontier Feminists are set to music by musical pioneers Libby Larsen, Judith Cloud, and Barbara Harbach. Add your experiences to a beautiful communal tapestry and share your stories over food by Eric from Easy Eats and delicious brews by Pete from middle brow beer.
Our performers for the evening include sopranos Iliana Goldstein, Onella Plyatilake, and Harrah Friedlander, accompanied by pianist Sun Chang. Music compositions include Cordelia Noble and Margaret Murie by Barbara Harbach; Landscape No. 2: Winter and Your Mother Works for a Living by Libby Larsen; and Flying Inside Your Own Head by Judith Cloud.
