Percussive dance is a highly rhythmic and musical dance form that uses percussive sounds created with the hands, feet and voice. For 30 years Sandy has been advancing this form, exploring the depths of the musical body as she guides students to embody and enrich their practice. This approach also supports audiences to actively engage as viewers and listeners. This goes beyond performance, encouraging an exploration that is both personal and communal. Her work is about being present for a process - through movement and stillness, sound and silence, and deeply listening both outwardly and inwardly.
