Clear Creek Alumni Scholarship Fundraiser
As a member of the Clear Creek Alumni Scholarship Committee, I am pleased to announce the eighth year of the Clear Creek Alumni Scholarship. This scholarship was created to benefit a graduating senior from Nevada Union High School, Ghidotti Early College High School, or Bear River High School.
The Clear Creek Alumni Scholarship was established through the generous donation of a local Clear Creek community member. That initial contribution allowed us to begin funding the scholarship, with hopes that further donations will sustain our efforts. For a graduate to receive this scholarship, he or she must have attended Clear Creek for a minimum of four years, graduated from Clear Creek, and have met a set of academic and community-service related criteria.
Clear Creek School is celebrating its 150th year. Since 1867, our K-8 school has grown from a one-room schoolhouse with twenty students to a thriving school of 165 students.
We believe that Clear Creek holds a special place in the heart of many former students. Eight years ago, with the help of a former Clear Creek graduate, Elena Wallace, we initiated the Clear Creek Chocolate Celebration as a scholarship fundraising event.
We are proud of our small schools accomplishments and history. Perhaps you, too, have fond memories of Clear Creek and would like to donate to the Alumni Scholarship. If so, there are two ways to contribute. One is to attend our Eighth Annual Clear Creek Wine, Chocolate & Cheese Celebration on April 6th, 2018, at North Star House on Auburn Road.
Two years ago, we re-structured our event, partnering with our neighborhood Bent Metal Winery on McCourtney Road, augmenting our chocolate offerings with wine and cheese. It was a marvelous success!
This year we have the same marvelous event at a new, expanded venue.
Please join us for an evening of delectable tastings, lively conversations, raffles and live music.
At our new site, you will see many community members and perhaps visit with some old friends and former teachers. If you are unable to attend, but would like to make a contribution, we are sincerely grateful. Advance tickets are available for $22.00 at brownpapertickets.com. Tickets at the door will be $30.00.
