Othello
The Play
Othello, the preeminent general of Venice, captures the heart of Desdemona, the beautiful and virtuous daughter of an esteemed senator. Posing as Othello's honest and reliable friend, Iago secretly plots to destroy Othello and to turn him against the woman that he loves.
Our Story
Our production started out simply enough. Eager to work with each other, Chinaza Uche and Dawn Cantwell, two young actors fascinated by the content of the play, set out to explore the dynamic relationship between Othello and Desdemona. Several weeks later, inspired by what they found and intent on delving further, the duo invited several of their fellow actors to join them for a reading of the play. Nearly two years later, here we are! Ready to continue exploring in front of a live audience!
