Blake Upper School Spring Play - The Merry Wives of Windsor
The Blake Upper School Theatre Department presents:
The Merry Wives of Windsor by William Shakespeare
Blake is honored to welcome Sari Ketter as Guest Director for The Merry Wives of Windsor, coming to the Blake MPAC stage. So brace yourself, it's Shakespeare, but without the gloomy princes, evil monarchs, or star-crossed lovers. It's just one fat, foolish Knight -- Sir John Falstaff -- who has retired to the small town of Windsor and has started purposefully pursuing the local housewives. He'll have to deal with these clever "merry wives", jealous husbands, hormonal teens, quirky doctors, persistent parsons and scheming neighbors. This ingenious production is set in suburban America in the 1950s. You'll recognize the characters and you'll leave humming the tunes. If Shakespeare had written a sitcom, it would have been The Merry Wives of Windsor. Don't miss it!
Note: As with previous performances, tickets will be available for cash sale at the Upper School during lunches 10 days prior to opening. Tickets will also be on sale with cash or check at the MacMillan Performing Arts Center starting one hour before each performance. This production may not be suitable for children 7 and under.
