Andrea Wild Presents
St Davids Day celebrates the patron saint of Wales. Festivities continue to commemorate the day on March 1st each year and we invite you to join this tradition with a very special concert at
Artichoke Music. The event features Welsh folk revival band, Three Pound Note, Harpist Elizabeth Nicholson as well as brother-sister duo, Both Wild, and special guests.

Three Pound Note, Welsh Folk Revival
Two ex-pats from the UK, both of Welsh descent, Andrea Wild and Hugo Glanville come armed with a broad repertoire of folk music from their native homeland engaging audiences with energized renditions of traditional songs. These two have merged musical forces with uilleann piper, Preston Howard and renowned bouzouki player, Zac Leger. With strong vocal harmonies, bouzouki, guitar, fiddle, whistles, accordion and pipes they collectively create unique arrangements of traditional Welsh folk music infused with dynamic elements from the Breton and Cornish music traditions. As the only Welsh folk band on the West coast, Three Pound Note
offers a rare opportunity here in the US to hear traditional Welsh folk music performed in the Welsh language.

Andrea Wild is a traditional singer from Liverpool, UK. Having a Welsh mother, Andrea grew up with Welsh and English spoken in the home. Andrea attended folk clubs in Northern England singing with her brother from an early age. Andrea now manages The Stomptowners, Mrs Doyle & The Teapots, Three Pound Note and produces Global Folk Club . Hugo Glanville grew up in the South of England where he was immersed in the UK folk scene as a youngster. He is foreman of Portlands Bridgetown Morrismen and leads community singing events including Portland Revels and Global Folk Club . Preston Howard grew up in Northern California where he began learning the uilleann pipes during his teens with the help of many kind traveling pipers as well as the Pub Scouts, the local Irish music collective in Chico, CA. Zac Leger has toured, performed and taught music all over the U.S., Canada and Ireland, and currently resides in Portland. He has won numerous medals on various instruments from both the U.S. and Ireland, and is one of the few Americans to hold a prestigious All-Ireland medal on the uilleann pipes. Zac has recorded on over a dozen albums and has played, recorded and performed with numerous world-renowned musicians, including Eileen Ivers, Jamie Laval, and the Irish-based show Celtic Crossroads.
