Congress Street
Congress Street was once Tucson's Main Street; over time it was neglected and fell into decay, but today, following two decades of planning and investment, it has become ground zero for Downtowns revitalization. In 2017 it was recognized by the APA as one of six Great Streets so well be taking a look at how Congress became what it is today a walkable, multi-modal, vibrant, eclectic urban street.
Presented By: Donovan Durband Donovan Durband has been involved with Congress Street planning since the late 1990s, serving as the executive director of the Tucson Downtown Alliance (now Downtown Tucson Partnership) until 2008, as Council Member Kozachiks Downtown liaison, founding 2nd Saturdays in 2010, and as the Administrator for Park Tucson since 2012. Donovan has a masters degree in Planning from the University of Arizona CAPLA.
