Annual Women's Breakfast
Join us on April 30 from 7:30-9:00am for MCEA's Annual Women's Breakfast.
This year's event will feature Hari Osofsky, Associate Professor of Law at the University of Minnesota.
Featuring Hari Osofsky, Associate Professor of Law at the University of Minnesota. Professor Osofsky will be presenting "Transitioning to Cleaner Energy: Lessons from the Twin Cities' Suburbs."
She will speak about the transition to cleaner energy and exciting opportunities to build on the work of suburban leaders, as well as the climate change and sustainability networks that support them. Energy transition involves massive challenges, including the need to control the risks of emerging technologies like deepwater drilling and hydraulic fracturing, to upgrade the aging electricity grid to allow for SmartGrid computerization while maintaining reliability, and to integrate abundant renewable resources.
Moreover, these challenges occur against the backdrop of the interrelated problem of our failure to address the problem of climate change adequately at any level of government. It is important that not just center cities, but also suburbs, to take action in the transition to cleaner energy. Come learn about how some of the Twin Cities' suburbs are leading the charge, and the opportunities for us all to make a difference on climate change and clean energy.
