Too Many Cooks: Olive Oils and Balsamics
Picking out olive oils at the grocery store can be overwhelming - with so many options, how can you tell what would be best? Extra virgin olive oil or virgin? Cold-pressed? Unfiltered? What about for cooking versus dipping? Trying to select the right balsamic vinegar isn't much easier.
Luckily, Columbus is home to a shop, the Oilerie Columbus, that not only has a massive variety of olive oils and balsamics, but also an owner, Nathan, who knows a lot about them.
Nathan will be joining us on February 10th to talk about the differences between different types and grades of olive oils and balsamics, and how best to cook with them too. We'll get to sample some items to identify the differences for ourselves.
We'll post more details on his specific topics as the date gets closer.
Held on the second Sunday of every month, Too Many Cooks! features experts, foodies, restaurateurs, and enthusiasts who talk about their passion for food. The evening starts promptly at 7pm and the $5 admission includes delicious food samples. BYOB.
