Yogis Take Manhattan
Join Heather Rama in New York City for the ultimate 3 day/3 night yoga get away, June 1st-3rd.
We'll live communally in the internationally acclaimed HI NYC hostel. HI NYC is the kind of hostel travelers dream about. Situated in the Upper West Side near Central Park, it offers groups private rooms, lockers for personal items, free wi-fi, an amazing cafe and beautiful green space. Visit their website to get a peek: https://www.hiusa.org/hostels/new-york/new-york/new-york-city
We'll focus on the yamas and niyamas in our daily 8am asana practice, and experience the healing affects of our pranayama practice at 8pm in Central Park.
During the day, we'll be uncovering many yogic gems to deepen your understanding and practice. At The Bhakti Center we'll learn the history and meaning of kirtan, then we'll be taught how to play the traditional instruments and sing in a relaxed atmosphere. We'll dine at Divyas Kitchen, where we'll enjoy a fresh, balanced meal prepared with love that is deeply rooted in the authentic tradition of Shaka Vansiya Ayurveda. Want to check it out? http://bhakticenter.org/
Withdraw your senses and go within at in the luxury Himalayan Salt Room at Modrn Sanctuary. Let your stress melt away in the negative ion atmosphere, relax as the dry saline aerosol draws toxins and impurities out. View the beautiful walls here: http://www.modrnsalt.com/.
Explore the artistic legacy of the Himalayan region and appreciate its place in the context of world cultures at the Rubin Museum. We'll be treated to a private group tour focusing on meaningful connections between Himalayan art and the philosophy and practice of yoga. Take in the flavors and aromas of the Himalayas at Cafe Serai. Watch a great video about the Rubin Museum: http://rubinmuseum.org/about
Time has also been built into the schedule for you to explore the city and process your experiences. Self reflection is deeply respected and encouraged.
$525 covers your accommodations at HI NYC, twice daily yoga practice led by Heather Rama, unlimited subway and bus transportation, Kirtan Camp at The Bhakti Center, Salt Room at Modrn Sanctuary, admission and group tour at the Rubin Museum and many other surprises.
