Working collaboratively with her gorgeous company of dancers, Corbett has created four new works.
During her Boston Center for the Arts 2011/2012 residency, Corbett created and presented I'm Like, No Way (premiere) as a work in progress. Set to music of experimental Icelandic rock band múm, this recently finished work is comprised of three duets and a septet considering the trajectory of restlessness. Nothing for Twins (premiere) and Something for Twins (premiere) are companion trios investigating how we compare things; the good, pretty, smart, straight-teeth twin and the bad, ugly, slow, crooked-teeth twin. Using Schubert's intense and melodramatic Impromptu No. 3 in G flat Major for both trios, these works play at blurring the line of what is "pretty" and "good". Left the Building (premiere) is an over-the-top love duet to the over-the-top crooning of Elvis. Also included in the program is an audience favorite, Rain (2003).
Dancers: Leah Bergmann, Jimena Bermejo, Caitlin Corbett, Maggie Husak, Erin Koh, Rebecca Lay, Kaela Lee, Irene Lutts, Nicole Pierce, Lindsey Ridgeway, Victor Tiernan
