Fermentation Class #3 with Laura Schue: Yogurt and Kombucha
Open Vessel Fermenting (AKA Aerobic Fermentation): Here's a class that joins multiple types of open air ferments, including home-made yogurt and kombucha. These ferments are easy, fun, healthy, and way tasty. Included in our menu will be whole milk yogurt (plain and vanilla), black tea kombucha, tepache (fermented pineapple soda), and red beet kvass. This class is designed for beginners, but participants with some experience are always welcome! We'll enjoy multiple samples, talk about recipes, mess-ups and pro tips, and you'll walk away with multiple items to finish off for homework and begin your own fermenting at home.
Laura Schue, passionate fermenter, returns for another round of The Art (and Science) of Fermentation. Laura is a small business owner, gardener, parent, and lover of creating the best food of our times using old techniques and scientific understanding. She has degrees in biology and chemistry, and a family history of grow your own/store your own. We'll have some taste testing, look at some equipment, and share notes and pro tips.
