To Reach the Golden Door
Halalisa, Boston's international choral ensemble presents a picture of the immigration experience through song. Leaving one's homeland for the unknown sparks a full spectrum of emotions: hope, yearning, sadness, joy... and this concert captures much of that through music. Mary Neumann, Artistic Director, conducts this group of 30 singers in a repertoire of South African, Celtic, Iraqi, Armenian, Tamil, Filipino, Costa Rican, and American choral arrangements.
