Peter and the Starcatcher
Los Angeles Mission College is proud to present Peter and the Starcatcher, a play by Rick Elice with music by Wayne Barker, and directed by Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts, Robert Cucuzza. This inaugural production in the AMP Theater in LA Mission Colleges brand new Arts, Media and Performance complex plays November 16-18.

Performances are Thursday, November 16 and 17 at 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 18 at 2:00 and 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $10.00 and $15.00 and can be purchased at starting November 1. While appropriate for all ages, this Peter Pan prequel will be best appreciated by children 8 and older.

In this prequel to Peter Pan, Molly, an apprentice starcatcher, and three orphan boys take to the high seas with a trunk full of magical starstuff while pursued by the ruthless pirate Black Stache and his band of marauders. The chase leads to an island, where Molly learns what it means to grow up, Stache loses his hand, the lost boys take up residence, and an extraordinary orphan is christened Peter, the boy who refused to grow up.

A dozen actors play scores of characters, employing inspired stagecraft, and the limitless possibilities of the imagination to create everything from a pirate ship battle in a hurricane to a flying cats and hungry crocodiles.

Robert Cucuzza has assembled a team of professional guest artists to work hand-in-hand with students actors and designers to bring the biggest production in the history of LA Mission College to life and give audiences a glimpse of the exciting future of our theater program. Guest artists include co-director Jon Patrick Walker, who performed in the Broadway production of Peter and the Starcatcher; actors James Cowan and Mark Lewis; scenic designer Dorothy Hoover; and lighting designer Darius Gangei.
