Drinking Habits
Desperate times call for desperate measures at the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing. When you mix a group of nuns with a case of homemade wine and two local reporters bent on getting the scoop, the result is sinfully funny and sure to leave audiences with a buzz of delight.
Pass Christian Theatre Project closes its season with the traditional farce Drinking Habits by Tom Smith. The play is the story of two nuns, Sister Augusta (played by Elizabeth Boswell) and Sister Philomena (Mary Ellen Murphy), who decide to secretly make and sell wine behind the back of Mother Superior (Carol Lindsay) when their tiny convent falls on hard times. As local journalists Paul (Keith Pederson) and Sally (Tara Davis) go undercover as clergy members, the plot thickens with twists, mistaken identity, lost loves and romance. Completing the cast is Father Chenille (David Boswell), Sister Mary Catherine (Karen Burkett) and George (Richard Benton). Drinking Habits, directed by Tom Longnecker, opens Thursday, November 2nd at 7 pm and runs through Sunday, November 5th with a 2 pm matinee. Tickets are $15.00. Opening night includes heavy hors doeuvres and complementary glass of wine, water or soda. Additional concessions will also be available.
PCTP is a program of work of Pass Christian Main Street Foundation that has a mission to promote and educate our community by fostering the arts and by assisting business development.
