ACT REVIEW: Intermediate & Advanced Burlesque
Ready for some constructive, professional feedback on one of your acts? Intermediate and advanced performers, this is the class for you!
You may be stuck in the creative process and need to workshop a new number, you may want to fine tune an existing piece, or perhaps you're looking for a fresh perspective from outside your usual circle. In this 90-minute workshop, you will present one act for instructor & guided peer review. Feedback is always presented with respect and professionalism. Please bring your completed act, costume, music, and note taking materials.
NOTE: This class is for those who have at least one year of active stage experience in burlesque or other performance.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Gina Louise, co-founder of the Playful Peacock Academy, has found great joy in teaching the art of burlesque since 2005. Her warm and engaging teaching style welcomes all students, no matter what their background. A Minneapolis cabaret artist known for creating innovative events and ensemble performances since 2003, Gina is a producer, emcee, soloist, choreographer, and instructor. Of all her roles onstage and behind-the scenes, teaching is her favorite! Ms. Louise brings a penchant for classic glamour, a twist of kitsch, and a bit of the avant-garde to her projects, including workshops, festivals, fundraisers, and cabarets. She is the Founder and Artistic Director of The Minneapolis Burlesque Festival, The Ladyslippers, The Emporium of Frolics & Romps, and Kiss of Fire. She originated the Best of Midwest Burlesk Festival and The Peacock Showgirls, and was a founder of the award-winning Lili's Burlesque Revue. Gina has been honored to perform at The Burlesque Hall of Fame and stages across the Twin Cities.
ABOUT THE PLAYFUL PEACOCK:
The Playful Peacock, the first school in the region specializing in the art of burlesque, was founded by Ophelia Flame and Gina Louise, who have been performing together since 2003 and teaching workshops since 2005. Their mission is to teach burlesque technique, performance, and history while encouraging self-expression and body confidence. The Academy offers classes, performance opportunities, bachelorette parties, and special events. All are welcome!
