Aw Shucks, Sandy!
Village Fishmonger, Evelyn Drinkery and Lucas Bols sponsor a benefit to raise funds to help rebuild Parsons Seafood's oyster and clam hatchery, which was decimated during Hurricane Sandy.
A $25 door ticket will get you 1 dozen oysters and one Galliano L' Autentico specialty cocktail. And if 1 dozen oysters isn't enough, there will be oysters & clams on the half-shell and a discounted specialty cocktail from 7:00-9:00pm:
-Oysters --> $13 for 1 dozen oysters, $7 for 1/2 dozen -Clams --> $9 for 1 dozen clams, $5 for 1/2 dozen
Proceeds will go to supporting the rebuilding of the Parsons Seafood hatchery.
Parsons Seafood is a local, family-owned business that has provided the region with high-quality shellfish for over 100 years. Dale Parsons Jr., a fifth generation bayman, began spawning oysters two years ago following his experience at a clam facility on Little Egg Harbor Bay. Today, the Parsons family manages a shellfish nursery and a retail market in Tuckerton, NJ and supplies shellfish wholesale to local restaurants and businesses.
Village Fishmonger is a New York-based seafood startup -- currently operating a Community Supported Fishery in NYC, Village Fishmonger builds on the traditional neighborhood fishmonger concept with "boat-to-table" sourcing and a carefully curated seafood selection.
Evelyn Drinkery is a neighborhood bar in the East Village with a laid back approach to the modern artisanal theory behind cocktails and spirited beverages. Located on Avenue C, Evelyn was also severely affected by Sandy.
Evelyn Drinkery and Village Fishmonger NYC are also proud to have the support from our friends at Lucas Bols, featuring Galliano L'Autentico, which uses 30 herbs, spices and plant extracts, is the perfect elixir to cure the woes from Sandy!
