Bullying: It's Time to Take a Stand
Bullying needs to stop and it's time to take a stand. We are inviting you to listen, learn, speak, raise awareness or simply stand in solidarity with those who experience bullying.
Join us on February 2nd as Christ Church Cathedral, in conjunction with the Diocese of New Westminster and St. Mary's Kerrisdale, present a screening of the critically acclaimed documentary "Bully" from director Lee Hirsch. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with Dr. Jennifer Shapka of UBC; Jarrah Hodge of the Huffington Post, the Very Rev. Dr. Peter Elliott and others.
This powerful film, which follows the lives of five bullied youth, is a must see for those who work with children and youth as well as young people and their parents. Tom Long of the Detroit News says Bully "...should be required viewing in all schools." Colin Covert describes the film as "...an emotionally powerful wake-up call for a society too long in denial".
It's time to take a stand. Join us and make a difference by saying no to bullying.
