The Art of and with Game Design
Have you ever wondered about the mechanics behind your favorite board games? What makes a game attractive in its play-ability? How does the play of a game affect the story and theme it is trying to tell?
There will be four class sessions in January. They will be on Fridays from 5:00-6:30pm and the sessions will be as follows:
Week 1: Many Mechanics
Week 2: Story, at what cost?
Week 3: Completing the Story
Week 4: Completing the Game
Bring your favorite game on the first day to be an example and we'll start bringing in new games and working them into a new design for your or another's favorite game. Maybe you'll make a new one and you'll be demo-ing it at a game's fair in June!
If you are 6+ and would like to learn how to design a game, this is the 'class' for you!
**Parents are required to attend the class if their child is 6-10.**
