Critical Thinking Boot Camp for Kids (Current 1st Graders) Fall 2017
The Critical Thinking Boot Camp for Kids is an unique academic enrichment program developed by author and award-winning educator, Lemi-Ola Erinkitola. The program builds confidence and instills a strong foundation in math (number sense) and reading (English) while sparking critical thinking through hands-on play, spatial reasoning and abstract questioning. For over 10 years these innovative academic bootcamp sessions continue to yield high achieving results for students and offer extraordinary benefits to bright kids seeking entrance to accelerated Gifted & Talented programs including CPS' Regional Gifted Centers and Classical schools.
Who should enroll? This course is ideal for current 1st graders: 1) Test Prep- Students (in 1st graders) preparing for the gifted/classical (aptitude/achievement) admissions tests.
2) Enrichment - students (in 1st grade) were are highly curious or easily bored, seeking appropriately challenging and fun learning opportunities.
Our instructors include licensed and trained professionals, certified teachers, gifted educators, early elementary educators, Singapore mathematicians, critical thinking specialists and reading specialists. We use a series of research-based brain development exercises, customized abstract puzzles and fun cognitive game activities to improve test scores, listening skills, confidence and abilities in: Reading (Phonics, oral vocabulary) Pattern decoding Math Reasoning and Number Sense Reading and literacy Cognitive processing speed Visual perception Spatial thinking Memory and concentration Solving analogies Think prep strategies Logical thinking and more
Classes are from 11:30am - 1:30pm held for 2 hours on Sundays in Chicago's South Loop for 10-week session held on:

Parent/caregiver participation and attendance is required. Parents can not alternate between morning and afternoon sessions. No make-up session permitted. Parents must remain on campus.
