Live! On Stage: PALEFACE
Paleface started his musical career in 1989 when he met Daniel Johnston (an interesting character himself) who taught Paleface how to write songs. Paleface lived in NYC at the time with his roommate Beck. Paleface and Beck attended open mics together, and Beck praises him as a huge influence on his earlier works.
Paleface caught the attention of Danny Fields (manager of The Stooges, The Ramones, MC5, and The Doors) who signed on to be his manager. Paleface's musical career includes tours with The Crash Test Dummies, The Judybats, Billy Bragg, The Breeders, Lutefisk, and appearances in Rolling Stone and Spin Magazine.
In 2005, Paleface was invited by the Avett Brothers to join in the making of their album, Four Thieves Gone: The Robinson Sessions. Five of the songs on the album are written by Paleface. The Avett Brother's album Emotionalism also features Paleface and his girlfriend drummer, Monica "Mo" Samalot. Likewise, the Avett Brothers are guests on Paleface's ablum A Different Story (2008.)
Paleface and Mo are performing live in Savannah on February 7th at The Wormhole Venue. The band Each & Every Opus opens. Doors are at 8PM. Showtime is 9PM.
