Invitation to the Fantasy World of Senju
Senju Matsunami is a well known Traditional Japanese cultural artist in Japan. She had a concert in August 2016 and will have one in Seattle on 11/1/2017 to respond to enthusiastic requests from those who came to the 2016 Portland Concert. Senju graduated from Tokyo University of the Art and has been an active professional performer since her graduation. She has been on TVs, Radios and Stages in Japan. She has over 100 students who she directly instructs at 5 locations in Japan. Senju and 6 others will play classic and modern Japanese music with Koto, Shamisen, and Shakuhachi (all these are traditional Japanese musical instruments) and Japanese traditional dance is also included in some music. The concert will also have a famous international Shakuhachi player, Kuniyoshi Sugawara, as a special guest. Kodoujyouji (Old Doujyouji Temple), Harunoumi (Spring Ocean), Setugetukaniyosete (Thinking of Snow, Moon, and Flowers), Aika (Sorrow Song), Kazenikike (Ask Wind), Jyounetsutairiku (Enthusiastic Continent) and few more music are played in the concert. The concert will be at the Broadway Performance Hall in Seattle on 11/1/2017 (Wed) from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The capacity of the theatre is 300.
