The Drowsy Chaperone
In this clever, Tony Award-winning spoof of musical comedies, a discontented Broadway fan, known only as Man in Chair, puts on a 1928 recording of his favorite musical, The Drowsy Chaperone, in an attempt to lift his mood. Soon his drab apartment transforms into an opulent Broadway stage, and the musical comes to life in front of his eyes! Mistaken identities, shenanigans, and a dramatically-colorful cast of characters, along with Man in Chairs wry, running commentary, create a hilarious musical-within-a-musical.
