Poetry and Music Night with Kifah Abdulla
Kifah Abdulla will read poems from his book of poetry Dead Still Dream, and he will present a short introduction about his poetry. Jawad Alftlawi will accompany Kifah, following with Arabic and Iraqi songs.
Kifah Abdulla is a poet, visual artist, writer, teacher, activist, and world citizen, born and raised in Baghdad, Iraq. His artwork employs different artistic styles to explore social, spiritual, emotional, and cultural themes.
Jawad Alftlawi is a composer, solo oud player, oud maker, and teacher. Born in Iraq, he completed a Master Degree in music science at the university of Baghdad. He hopes to teach and make oud in Maine.
