Functional Movement for Bartenders
Join Occupational Pilates teacher and movement consultant Marcia Polas for a 2-hour workshop to:
Examine and change how you use your body behind the bar. Learn and practice tools to undo the patterns you've developed that aren't serving you. End your chronic (hand/arm/elbow/shoulder/neck/back/knees/feet) pain.
Marcia Polas addresses what actually goes wrong behind the bar, how the patterns you walked in with create the issues you are dealing with daily, and how to unravel your harmful patterns. You will learn to readdress the physicality of standing behind the bar: shaking/stirring/pouring a drink, properly leaning into any rail, and keeping Kold Draft Ice from destroying your joints. She explains why all the exercise (Yoga/Pilates/Running/Cross-Fit/Meditation), massage, and chiropractic we are offering as wellness solutions to bartenders are bandages against the rigors of the job and daily offers bartenders effective tools to address the problems created behind the bar and teaches you to stop undermining your career and to break the cycle so those bandages are no longer needed.
