SETTING THE MOOD
Setting the Mood
Literature and Art are intrinsically emotional. Artists and writers have the ability to deliberately set the tone and mood in their works. The settings in both paintings and novels encompass time, place and mood. Landscape, weather and light can reflect the inner minds of characters as well as stir feelings in the reader or viewer.
Please join Literary Affairs as we tour selected works of art that reflect mood in the Getty Collection.
A specialist from Art Muse LA will curate the tour and Julie Robinson will incorporate literary settings into the tour by reading and discussing passages from classic and contemporary literature.
