The Living Journal Workshop
Spend the day exploring the possibilities of a journal practice. What a special way to enter the new year in a community of creative people gathered to begin or renew a relationship with themselves and their journals.
This workshop will offer both didactic and experiential components. You can count on the day to contain a mix of writing, working with color and images, guided meditation, and reflection. We will provide a range of exercises and tools to help you (re)enter the sacred and vital space of the journal.
No writing experience is necessary, nor must you identify as an artist. All that is required is a curiosity about what journaling might open up for you, and a willingness to experiment and be surprised at the wellsprings of your own creativity.
Workshop Facilitators:
Sibel Golden, Ph.D., LMHC is a psychotherapist and creativity consultant in private practice. For over 20 years, she has blended her background in the arts with her work as a therapist offering creative journal writing tools that deepen self-discovery, provide an opportunity for catharsis, and a channel for inspiration.
Heidi Stahl, M.A. has earned her living as a writer for most of her professional life. From historical research to particle physics, from poetry to journaling, whether teaching composition or creative writing, pen and paper have always provided the shelter in which she weaves and contemplates meaning and beauty.
